Seoul Subway Lockers: How Do You Use T-Locker—and Find Your Locker Again?

You've checked out of your hotel, but you still have a few hours before your flight.

You wheel your suitcase into a subway station and find the luggage lockers. Some compartments are empty. But when you step closer to use one, you notice a QR code and instructions for an app.

T-Locker (또타라커).

It looks similar to the lockers you've seen at other stations, but it doesn't work the same way.

Seoul subway stations have newer T-Lockers that you use through an app, as well as other lockers that you use by following the instructions on the machine. So before you choose an empty compartment, check how the locker in front of you works.

First, Check Whether It's a T-Locker or Another Type of Locker

If you see a QR code and a T-Locker sign, start with your phone.

With newer T-Lockers, you use the app to check which lockers are available, choose a compartment, pay, store your luggage, and retrieve it later.

If there's a chance you'll use one, install the app and make sure it opens properly before you get to the locker.

For other lockers, the steps can vary from machine to machine, so check the instructions on the screen or on the locker itself first.

If It's a T-Locker, Start the Storage Process at the Locker

T-Lockers come in small, medium, and large sizes, so if you have a suitcase, check that a compartment big enough for it is available.

When you're ready to store your bag, go to the T-Locker location first.

Once you're there, scan the QR code or enter the location code to pull up that locker, then choose a compartment and pay.

During the process, the app gives you a one-time password (OTP). Follow the on-screen instructions to enter it at the locker.

When the door opens, put your bag in and close it all the way.

Before you walk away, check that the door is fully closed and locked.

After You Store Your Bag, Save the Location, Not Just the Locker Number

Once your bag is inside and the door locks, it can feel like you're done.

But when you come back to the same station a few hours later, you may run into another problem.

Where was my locker again?

Some stations, such as Seoul Station and Express Bus Terminal Station, have lockers in more than one location.

So instead of walking away with only "Locker 27" in mind, do one more thing.

Take a photo that shows the lockers and the subway signs around them.

Try to include an exit number or transfer sign in the photo. If the app shows the location of your locker, save a screenshot of it too.

More important than remembering the locker number is leaving yourself a clue that will help you find the same place again.

You'll Need Your Phone When You Come Back for Your Bag

When you return to the station a few hours later, check the photo you took when you stored your bag.

Use the exit number or transfer signs in the photo to make your way back to the T-Locker you used.

With newer T-Lockers, you use the app again to retrieve your bag.

So make sure your phone still has some battery left.

Once you're back at the locker, start the retrieval process in the app. If there's an additional fee, pay it first, then enter the new OTP and take out your bag.

Check How Late You Can Pick Up Your Bag, Not Just the Price

T-Locker base rates vary by locker size and by whether it's a weekday or weekend, and extra charges apply once you go beyond the initial storage period.

For the most accurate rate, check the Seoul Metropolitan Government's official T-Locker page or the app on the day you use it.

When you're planning your day, there's a time limit that matters more than a difference of a few thousand won.

How late can you pick up your bag?

The Seoul Metropolitan Government currently lists T-Locker hours as 05:00–24:00.

Outside those hours, you can't store a bag or retrieve one that's already inside.

If you're catching a late-night airport bus or train, don't just ask, "How much will the extra fee be?" First make sure you can get back to the locker before midnight.
